I believe that the love and mercy of God is available to everyone. We must call on His name, accept Jesus Christ as the Son of God, and ask Him to be Lord of our lives in order to be saved.
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:3
There is freedom from a life of sin, difficult pasts, and hopeless futures.
“The Spirit of the Sovereign Lord is on me, because the Lord has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim freedom for the captives and release from darkness for the prisoners, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion—to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor.” Isaiah 61:1-3
As Christians, our job is to walk in a life of obedience to Christ. Giving Him back the life we owe, in service to Him.
“Love means doing what God has commanded us, and he has commanded us to love one another, just as you heard from the beginning.” 2 John 1:6
The Great Commision applies to us.
Then Jesus came to them and said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” Matt. 28:18-20
