Christianity Doesn’t Work

No. Christianity doesn’t work.

Not when you live in half surrender, denying the Lord full reign in your life.

When you minister on Sunday, living a selfish life the rest of the week.

It never works when you confess some sin, keeping ‘pet sins’ hidden away, in the dark recesses of your heart.

How do you think you can  be satisfied as you feed the flesh on , unholy music, crude jokes godless movies, and spending only a quick moment in the Bible?

It doesn’t work when we are chasing money, fame, and popularity as a way of feeling secure, when our security is truly found in Jesus.

It won’t work if all you know how to do is talk the talk, but you can’t walk the walk .

You can recite 1 Cor 13… Love is… but in the privacy of your home, your are short tempered and angry.

It fails when we claim to love God , but hate our brother.

Christianity will never work when we rely on our own strength and willpower to overcome sin, instead of pulling from Heaven’s bountiful resources and the power that rose Jesus from the grave.

It ceases in power when we refuse to give up things in our life, in exchange for a better, higher calling. (We don’t want to give up this youth activity, social event to minister to a hurting friend, etc.)

It doesn’t work when your pride keeps you from asking for help, or confessing sin.

If Christianity doesn’t work for you, why? What is keeping you from a life of full surrender to the Lord Jesus? Is it pride, fear,  money, selfishness, flesh, worldly desires?

“No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.” Matthew 6:24
